Día 16 / Day 16

Phnom Penh, 24 de Septiembre de 2011, Cadena de frío.

Hoy al mediodía llegamos a Camboya, esto quiere decir que nuevamente nos enfrentamos a la pobreza entre otras cosas. Por supuesto todo es muy barato, eso hace que puedas comer por muy poco dinero pero sin embargo no hemos encontrado ropa barata, y mi amiga se lamenta de eso, vino súper expectante de comprar Nike a bajos precios porque su ropa decía “hecho en Camboya” pero al menos hasta ahora no la hemos encontrado. Luego de dejar las valijas nos fuimos a dar una vuelta por la ciudad, y vimos un poco de todo pero la experiencia más fuerte fue caminar por 2 cuadras donde se encuentra el mercado de comida, ahí encontramos flores, frutas, verduras pero también animales muertos y raros, carnes, pescados y todo eso en un entorno, sucio, húmedo, caluroso y mal oliente. Claro que acá todo esto que está a la venta y alguien lo compra, de hecho había mucha gente comprando, lo que me lleva a concluir que la cadena de frio es un invento capitalista para hacernos creer que la comida se pone en mal estado, acá podemos ver una mujer que vende carne y que probablemente estuvo ahí todo el día debajo del rayo del sol y la carne fresquita fresquita.  

Phnom Penh, September 24th 2011, Cool chain.

We arrived to Cambodia today at noon, this means we are facing poorness again among other things. Everything is cheap of course, it easy to eat for a few bucks, however there are no cheap clothes, my friend is sad because of that, she came with many expectations to buy Nike at super low prices since some of her clothes say “made in Cambodia” but unfortunately we haven’t found it yet. We left the bags and we just check the city, having a big picture of everything, but the most impact experience was cross only 2 blocks of the food market, there are flowers, fruits, vegetables and dead weird  animals also meat and fish, everything in a dirty, humid and hot environment with a lot of smell. Everything is on sale of course and someone or many of them buy these things, this fact take me to conclude the cool chain is an invent of the capitalism system in order to make us believe food will be in a bad spot if we don’t take care of how it is cooled, here you can see a lady selling meat, she probably was in there the whole day under the sun and the meat is really fresh.
