Día 9 / Day 9

 

Kuala Lumpur, 17 de Septiembre de 2011, Torres gemelas.

Hoy arrancamos a las 4:30AM porque el vuelo era temprano y el aeropuerto de Phuket está lejos de la ciudad. Llegamos a Kuala Lumpur, un aeropuerto muy extraño, luego fuimos al hotel, dejamos las valijas y nos fuimos a recorrer la ciudad. Nuestra primera impresión no fue buena, nada atractivo, y luego de mucho calor y caminar de un lado para el otro decidimos ir a visitar las torres Petronas que se ven de casi todos lados, hasta el momento estas son las más altas del mundo como gemelas, tienen 88 pisos y 452 metros. Estas torres fueron diseñadas por el arquitecto Argentino César Pelli. Hasta acá nada especial, pero nuestra sorpresa fue cuando llegamos después de caminar mucho y nos encontramos con un cartel que decía: “cerrado desde el 15-Sep hasta Diciembre”, y acá es 17-Sep, así que llegamos 2 días tarde y veo muy difícil regresar. Aunque sea nos quedamos con la vista desde abajo.

We started at 4:30AM because our flight was early in the morning and the airport of Phuket is far from the city. We’ve arrived to Kuala Lumpur, a weird airport, and we went to the hotel to leave the bags and check the city. Our first impression was not so good, nothing really attractive, and after walk around under the hot sun, we decided to visit the Petronas towers, it’s easy to see them from everywhere, these towers are the biggest ones as twins, they have 88 floors and 452 meters. They have been designed by the Argentinean architect César Pelli. Nothing special so far, but we were surprised by a sign: “closed from 15-Sep to December”, here is the 17^th, so we were 2 days late, and it will be difficult to come back, I think. We had the lower view at least.
