Ho Chi Minh, 29 de Septiembre de 2011, Río Mekong

Hoy visite el río Mekong, es uno de los más largos del mundo, tiene casi 5.000 kilómetros y cruza 6 países desde China hasta Vietnam. Por supuesto solo pude ver un poco, pero fue bastante interesante, en este río pasan muchas cosas pero lo más importante es el comercio. Hay mucha gente que vive junto al río pero otros viven literalmente dentro de él, y aunque no lo crean pagan un impuesto diario por estar ahí, las ventas que realizan son al por mayor a diferencia de otros mercados flotantes, y las familias más ricas tiene varios botes. En general el comercio es de comida y según nos explicaron la gente que ahí vive consume el agua del río luego de purificarla con un producto químico, además suelen pescar y abastecerse de frutas, verduras y otras cosas que crecen en el lugar siendo el arroz lo único que compran por un precio muy bajo. En esta foto pueden observar la gente que vive de un lado como cruza hacia la otra costa, algo así como la lancha de puerto madero que también te cruza.

Y en la siguiente foto pueden observar donde estuvo mi amiga, claramente el color del agua es muy diferente, es increíble que en estos países tan pequeños puedas encontrar las dos cosas muy cerca una de la otra.

I visited the Mekong river today, this is one of the longest in the world, it has more than 3.000 miles and cross 6 countries from China to Vietnam. I saw a little bit of course, but really interesting, many things happen in there but the most important is the commerce. Many people live next to the river but there are others who live in the river literally, and believe or not they pay a daily tax to stay there, this is a wholesale market not like others in this area, reach families has many boats there. They sell food in general and they use water directly from the river, of course after use a chemical in order to make it drinkable, they eat fish from this river and also collect fruits and vegetables in this area, the only thing they have to is for rice at really low prices. This photographs shows how people cross the river from coast to coast.

The other photograph is where my friend spent the day, you can see the difference just looking at the color of water, it’s amazing you can find two realities very close one to each other in small countries like those.
