Miami, 17 de Octubre de 2011, El final.

Después de hacer un viaje de 36 horas puerta a puerta, me encuentro en casa. En este viaje recorrí 6 países y 9 ciudades, tome 16 vuelos, 2 trenes y varios botes, me encontré con países muy pobres en general, a excepción de Singapur que es el único que parece no pertenecer al Sudeste Asiático, es un caso muy similar al de Hong Kong con el resto de China, en ambos casos la economía aislada de estos países hace que la gente sea más educada, y todo este más limpio, ordenado y funcionando. Tailandia, si uno tiene los cuidados necesarios puede considerarse un lugar para hacer turismo, el resto son países para la aventura y en algunos casos extrema. Comí mas arroz que en toda mi vida y la “famosa” comida de estos países no es espectacular, por otro lado es muy poco variada y no hay mucha oferta de comida occidental disponible, lo que hace que te termines cansando. Medan en Indonesia fue la peor ciudad que visite y Singapur la más linda, también la más cara. El comunismo está muy presente en estos países, ya sea por historia o actualidad, sin embargo el comunismo que tienen hoy no es económico.  La motito es el transporte número 1 en esta región, la oferta más popular son los masajes y luego la oferta de transporte en la calle. Los lugares más asquerosos en general son los mercados y la calles que lo rodean, los lugares más limpios son los parques. Todas las bebidas que te sirven van acompañadas de una pajita, y casi todas las comidas van con arroz pegado cocinado al vapor. Las imitaciones son muy populares, en general todo es de baja calidad o con diseños que obligan a uno a no comprar. AirAsia nos hizo viajar bastante barato y con aviones nuevos, los hoteles son bastante económicos, algunos en el rango de los 10 dólares por persona. En algunos países se me maneja de la derecha y en otros de la izquierda, también en algunos se maneja como mas te guste y por donde quieras. El oriental en general carece del sentido de distancia para con el otro y el respeto para las costumbres ajenas parece no existir, en general tienen culturas muy fuertes, les cuesta hablar en Ingles excepto para venderte algo. Es muy común ver gente con barbijos, como así también protegiéndose del sol. Ha sido un excelente viaje donde vi y aprendí de todo, aunque la mayoría de los destinos no los repetiría, próximamente estarán disponibles las fotos del proyecto documental en mi página personal (www.marianobaione.com). I’m home, after a 36 hours door to door trip. I´ve visited 6 countries and 9 cities in this trip, I’ve taken 16 flights, 2 trains and several boats, I found very poor countries in general, except for Singapore, it’s the only one out of context, it doesn’t seem to belong to Southeast Asia, it’s a very similar case to Hong Kong with the rest of China, the isolate economy of these countries make more educated people, much cleanses, and everything works. Thailand could be considered a tourist place if you take care of some specific things, the rest are just adventure countries, sometimes extreme. I’ve eaten more rice in this time than in my entire life, and the “famous” food of these countries is not so awesome, there are not too much options and it’s difficult to find western food, finally you get tired. Medan in Indonesia is the worst place I’ve been to, and Singapore the most beautiful, also the most expensive. The communism is alive in these countries, in the past propaganda or even nowadays but not in the economic system. The scooter is the number 1 transportation in this area, the most popular offer are the massages and then the street transportation. The most nasty places are the market and the surround area, the cleanest ones are the parks. The drinks are served with a straw and The food in general has a bowl of steamed sticky rice. The fake goods are very popular, in general low quality or really poor design. AirAsia is really cheaper and they have new aircrafts, the hotels are cheaper too, some of them in the range of 10 dollars per person. It’s possible to see people driving at the right side, and left side, depends on the country and it’s possible also to see them driving everywhere doesn’t matter which is the right side. The oriental people, in general, seems to have a lack of sense in the distance and the space with others, it’s difficult to see respect for others custom, they have a strong culture, it’s difficult for them to speak in English, except to sale goods. It’s very common to see people with masks and also with sun protection.
